Xenses

Grupo Xcaret

Half day30 min from PDC from PDC

A half-day sensory park that plays tricks on your perception. Walk through a gravity-defying village, soar on a zip-line over jungle, slide through underground rivers of mud, and float in salty waters.

Xenses is unlike any other park in the Riviera Maya. While its sister parks focus on adventure or nature, Xenses is designed to challenge your senses and perception through a series of cleverly engineered environments. Located about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen, this half-day park from Grupo Xcaret is ideal for visitors who want a unique experience without committing to a full day.

The park is divided into two halves: the Town and the Nature sections. The Town features gravity-defying architecture where tilted rooms, slanted streets, and optical illusions make you question which way is up. Walking through these environments is disorienting in the most entertaining way possible. The Nature section takes you through underground rivers of warm mud, zip-line flights over jungle, and a salt-water flotation pool where you bob effortlessly on the surface.

The mud river slide is a highlight that most visitors remember long after they leave. You slide down a warm, muddy channel through a series of caves before reaching a shower area. It is messy, fun, and strangely relaxing. The park provides all necessary gear and has excellent shower facilities.

Xenses includes 14 different sensory activities in total, and the entire experience takes about 4 to 5 hours from start to finish. This makes it an excellent option for travelers who want a morning or afternoon activity without dedicating an entire day. Many visitors pair Xenses with a beach afternoon or a dinner reservation in Playa del Carmen.

At $59 USD per person, Xenses is the most affordable of the Grupo Xcaret parks and offers strong value for the experience. Lockers and showers are included. Food and drinks are available for purchase but are not included in the admission price.

Xenses is particularly popular with couples and small groups. The sensory experiences create plenty of laughable moments and photo opportunities. It is less suited for very young children who might be frightened by the dark caves or disorienting rooms. The recommended minimum age is 5 years.

To get the most out of Xenses, wear a swimsuit under comfortable clothes, bring a change of clothes for after the mud activities, and do not forget a waterproof camera. Book online through the Xenses website for advance purchase discounts.
