Xavage is the newest and most extreme addition to the Grupo Xcaret family of parks in the Riviera Maya. Located about 35 minutes from Playa del Carmen, this park is built around a simple concept: choose your level of intensity from 1 to 5 and experience activities that match your appetite for adventure.
The park features six core activities: whitewater rafting, monster truck driving, high-speed jet boats, a ropes course with suspended bridges, zip-lining over a crocodile habitat, and kayaking through mangrove channels. Each activity is rated by intensity level, and you select a package that includes the activities matching your desired thrill factor.
Whitewater rafting at Xavage is conducted on a purpose-built course with rapids ranging from Class II to Class III. While it does not compare to natural river rafting in Colorado or Costa Rica, it provides a genuine whitewater experience that is hard to find anywhere else in the flat Yucatan Peninsula. The course is about 15 minutes per run.
The monster truck course lets you drive specially modified vehicles through mud pits, over obstacles, and through rough terrain. It is louder, messier, and more fun than you might expect. Jet boats are high-speed watercraft that accelerate and spin across a lake at speeds that will have everyone in the boat screaming.
Xavage pricing is tiered based on intensity level. The basic package starts at around $70 USD and includes the lower-intensity activities. The all-access package at around $170 USD covers everything. Lunch and unlimited beverages are included in all packages. This tiered system lets budget-conscious visitors enjoy the park without paying for activities they might not want.
The park is best suited for groups of friends, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and anyone who finds traditional parks too tame. It is the only Grupo Xcaret park specifically designed for extreme sports. Minimum age varies by activity but is generally 6 to 12 years depending on the intensity level.
