Makesh Beach Club and Restaurant offers a more refined and tranquil alternative to Playa del Carmen’s party-oriented beach clubs. Located on Calle 2 Norte, the club features an infinity pool with ocean views, Balinese beds on the beach, and a contemporary Mexican restaurant with an emphasis on artisanal cocktails crafted from local ingredients.
The atmosphere is decidedly upscale and relaxation-focused. There are no thumping DJs or go-go dancers here — instead, the soundtrack is chill lounge music paired with the sound of waves. The menu features international and contemporary Mexican cuisine with gluten-free and vegan options, with dishes ranging from 310–500 MXN.
A day pass with pool access includes approximately 800 MXN (~$45 USD) in consumable credit toward food and drinks. Unlike most beach clubs that close at sunset, Makesh stays open until midnight, making it one of the few spots where you can enjoy a beachfront dinner and cocktails after dark.
